More than a fateful discovery of a long-known ghost signs, it’s the “reveals” that surprise today: here’s a Western Avenue Chinese restaurant on Lincoln getting a clean-up and highlighting the lack of an area code, suggesting the sign is pre-1996. The merchant anticipates reopening in September. Will this be buried under fresh signage” (Tom Lee is still in business.)
